Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso said that the 22‑year‑old forward Siyanda Ndlovu will be used cautiously due to a muscle injury suffered shortly after joining the club. Ndlovu made his debut against Kaizer Chiefs and appeared again in a 2‑0 win over Marumo Gallants.

Cardoso explained that Ndlovu suffered a muscle injury almost immediately after arriving, which hampered his preparation during the team’s European tour. The player only returned to training a week ago after the injury. The coaching staff are determined not to overload him in competitive fixtures to avoid undoing the rehabilitation work.

The manager added that the decision to limit Ndlovu’s game time is based on data and medical advice, not a lack of faith in his ability. He noted that top‑flight football can be unpredictable and rushing a player back from a soft‑tissue injury is dangerous.

Cardoso also addressed fan frustration, saying that supporters often do not understand the internal considerations. He emphasised that Ndlovu’s integration must be natural and careful, especially after an injury.

Despite the restrictions, Cardoso praised the young player’s professional attitude. Ndlovu will have opportunities to show his impact in the remaining matches of August, including a PSL game against AmaZulu on 26 August and MTN8 semi‑finals against Golden Arrows on 23 and 30 August.
