Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso confirmed Monnapule Saleng's repeated absences from training and matches, despite the club's attempts to support the troubled winger. Saleng, who joined Sundowns after disciplinary issues at Orlando Pirates and Orbit College, has missed duty three to four times, according to Cardoso. The coach revealed the player was isolated from the squad for breaching protocols, impacting his development. 'Imagine you train with him the whole week, put his name in the match-day squad, and on the day of the game when you are waiting for him to get on the bus, he just doesn’t show up,' Cardoso said. The incidents, which included being the last to arrive and first to leave, have made it difficult to foster Saleng's growth. Cardoso emphasized the coaching staff's continued support, stating they 'gave him love' and made him feel 'important' despite his absences. However, the winger's lack of commitment has raised concerns about his integration into the team. Saleng's agent, Karabo Mathang-Tshabuse, echoed Cardoso's sentiments on Metro FM, urging the player to accept psychological help.
