Mamelodi Sundowns FC have agreed to sell Thato Sibiya to French Ligue 1 outfit LOSC Lille. The 20-year-old left-back has been a key player for the Sundowns' youth teams, helping them win the U20 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt and participate in the FIFA World Cup in Chile last year. Sibiya has also made nine appearances for the South African junior national team, showcasing his skills as a full-back. Despite being promoted to the Sundowns' first team in January 2026, Sibiya has yet to make the matchday squad in the 2026/27 season. The transfer deal is expected to be announced soon, with Sibiya set to join Lille this week. The French club has reportedly offered Sibiya a lucrative deal to lure him to Europe, where he will continue to develop his skills. With the deal sealed, Sibiya is poised to embark on a new journey in European football.
